Canon EF 50mm f/1.4 USM Reviews

It's an optically fantastic but not well built lens. The focus gets jammed on many units. Mine is useable only at distances greater than 2 meters.

A great Lens on my 5D. I love to use it at f1.4 when shooting portraits. At f4 ist's tac-sharp. Inexpensive, reliable prime lens that gives you possibilities WAY beyond any zoom.

An old lens. I bought it 2nd (maybe 3rd-4th ..)hand.
Was my first prime.
Use it a lot.
Nice weight & size.
Have taken some very nice pictures with 5-20-400 D.
But I wouldn't pay more than 250 euros (~$300).

I bought this lens about some month ago to go with my 40D it seems to be a old design surprisingly sharp at f4 and useful at f2.8. Focus is fast on the downside while giving excellent results
its construction leaves a lot to be desired. Surely Canon could do a little better at minimal cost increase.
