Samsung S 50-150mm f/2.8 OIS Lens Preview
The new Samsung 50-150mm f/2.8 S ED OIS lens, for Samsung NX cameras, feels very well built with a solid construction, and fits neatly onto the Samsung NX1, making the camera system look professional. The lens features a constant f/2.8 aperture which should mean it is possible to get pleasing bokeh and background blur. The lens zoom is internal, and optical image stabilisation is said to give between 4 and 4.5 stops. The lens is also dust and spash resistant, matching the weather sealed Samsung NX1.
The new 50-150mm f/2.8 S ED OIS lens is a high end, premium telephoto lens designed to go with the new NX1. It features a bright f/2.8 maximum aperture and 35mm equivalent 77-231mm focal range, making it suitable for sport, wildlife and portrait photography. The lens includes an advanced Multi-Axis Optical Image Stabilisation (OIS) system with up to 4.5 stops (at mid-range, under the CIPA standard), Samsung’s Ultra Precise Stepping Motor (UPSM), and dust and splash resistance offered by Samsung Hyper Shield (SHS).
