Canon lens 300mm f/4 L USM- MTF data
I have a requirement for a high MTF performance lens. I have noticed the MTF of the IS version is lower, but cannot find a source to purchase a USM version.
I have managed tto get hold of one on ebay, in mint- condition paid £ 400.00 but the results are worth it. I always only had 300L2.8 lens but as I no longer require it to shoot sport, I settled for the old 300F4 usm version, which is fine with my 1dnmk2. keep looking!
I have two in excellent condition, and will part with either one - as they are both equally excellent. No scratches or fungus; the bodies are in near-mint condition with no dings. Perfect functional condition - these are both razor-sharp copies. I've looked for them; very rarely sold at auction anymore. Let me know if you are still interested. I will be going on vacation for a couple weeks.
if high performance is a requirement also consider the Leica 280mm f/4 APO, which is diffraction-limited at full aperture.
