Leica 25mm f/1.4 for FourThirds

Reports of a new standard lens for the FourThirds system with a fast f/1.4 aperture have surfaced from Japan.

Japanese photographic website dc.watch.impress.co.jp have images from their meeting with Panasonic where they got to see the 25mm f/1.4 lens first hand.

The lens consists of ten elements in nine groups with one aspherical element and one LD element. Closest focusing is 38cm and the smallest aperture is f/16. The lens takes 62mm filters and weights 525g.

The OIS stabilization system has not been included in this lens.

Beware! This is NOT a Leica lens. Leica AG does not design or manufacture this lens. It's a pure Panasonic design and build product.
