Tokina 35mm Macro lens announced
New 35mm f/2.8 Macro lens from Tokina - Kenro has announced the UK release of a new macro lens from Tokina, the ATX 35mm F2.8 Macro PRO DX (AT-X M35 PRO DX).
Press Release:The close focusing distance of the M35 is an amazingly close 5.5 inches (14cm) yielding a macro ratio of 1:1 or life-sized reproduction with excellent sharpness and when used on digital SLR cameras the new lens gives the same angle of view as a 52mm lens.
Weighing just 340 grams this compact macro is easy to carry almost everywhere and the wide f/2.8 aperture allows for easier viewing in low light situations. The front element of the lens has a newly formulated WR or 'Water Repellent' optical coating on the glass. This new coating means that blemishes left by water or fingerprints are much easier to clean than with a standard multi-coating.
The AT-X M35 PRO DX boasts Tokina's exclusive One-touch Focus Clutch Mechanism. This groundbreaking feature allows the photographer to switch between Auto Focus and Manual Focus by simply snapping the focus ring forward for Auto and back towards the camera to focus manually. There is no need to change the AF-MF switch on Nikon cameras and there is no second AF/MF switch on the lens for Canon, everything is accomplished by the focus ring.
Paul Kench, Kenro's managing director says: "Being able to shoot high quality 'life size' Macro images is the dream of many photographers. This lens is the answer to their prayers. The fast aperture will also be of great benefit when shooting under low lighting conditions or where the photographer needs to 'freeze' moving images such as when flowers are moving in the wind."
The lens is available with either a Canon (TOK118) or a Nikon (TOK117) mount with
an RRP of £369.99 Inc VAT.
