Shooting into the light can result in flare and loss of contrast | 1/100 sec | f/5.6 | 40.0 mm | ISO 100 | Sharpness is excellent in the centre from maximum aperture and very good across the frame when stopped down | 1/320 sec | f/7.1 | 40.0 mm | ISO 100 |
1/400 sec | f/6.3 | 40.0 mm | ISO 100 | 1/640 sec | f/2.8 | 40.0 mm | ISO 100 |
1/250 sec | f/5.6 | 40.0 mm | ISO 100 | 1/250 sec | f/7.1 | 40.0 mm | ISO 100 |
No lens hood comes supplied with this lens, and for the most part it is reasonably resistant to flare. When shooting in very harsh backlit conditions, flare can be an issue, and image contrast drops off considerably.
