Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4 Sample Photos
The Leica DG Summilux 25mm f/1.4 is a standard prime lens for the Micro Four Thirds system, and will work on any Olympus or Panasonic Micro Four Thirds camera, it has a large f/1.4 aperture, which should give a narrow depth of field and background blur.
We took a number of photos of the lens on an Olympus PEN Lite E-PL3, but we've shown it here mounted to the Panasonic Lumix G3.
The lens has a minimum focus distance of 30cm, meaning it's not ideal for macro photos, but it should make an excellent portrait lens. Focusing was quick and the build quality is good.
The large grip surrounding the lens is used for manual focus, however, it is not a directly connected manual focus system, instead using a "drive by wire" electronic control.
The lens is made by Panasonic, to Leica standards and has two aspherical elements.
